With a deep sense of gratitude and love to God, and to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, I humbly attempt to express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me. I became interested in it through the healing of a friend, whose case was pronounced hopeless by an eminent specialist. Through this almost miraculous healing I began to read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and as I studied this text-book a little understanding of Truth came to me which I was able to demonstrate. Physically I was strong and healthy, with the exception of a few ills, — one being a weakness of the eyes which I had from childhood and which quite often kept me from reading. The disappearance of this ailment is all due to Christian Science. Words are inadequate to express my gratitude for the manifold blessings that have followed the dawning of the truth in my consciousness. Every form of evil that has been manifested has been destroyed through this truth, but the greatest was the healing of my mentality, enabling me to discern the true sense of Life. Before coming into Science I was a member of an orthodox church, and trained up in the Sunday School, but with all my religious training I had very little understanding of the Bible. Our text-book has indeed proved to be a "Key," for it has unlocked the hidden treasures of the Bible, which is now my daily companion, with Science and Health. Where there was a sense of sadness and inharmony hovering over me almost constantly, especially in my childhood, now there is joy and harmony. This is indeed the new birth, which all must have in order to enter the kingdom of heaven. I am also most grateful and happy for being privileged to belong to the Christian Science church.
