He is Risen

True love will not entomb a brother in the bondage of his past mistakes. The light of charity helps us to discern the temptation, the struggle, perhaps the fall, while compassion ever beckons a welcome return. Error is ever ready to deceive us with the image of mortal man. while piercing us with the darts of envy, jealousy, hatred, malice, and revenge. It were well for us to heed the admonition against seeking "the living among the dead." We cannot bury a brother in the tomb of mortality and hope to see him as the likeness of God. The faithful follower of Truth heard the angels say. "He is not here: for he is risen." The one striving for the mastery may have conquered the error of yesterday, of an hour ago. while a selfwilled watcher would still persistently bind him with cords of evil suggestion. Ascending thought will ever see true image, and say to false sense, "He is not here: behold the place where they laid him."

Our times of greatest pleasure are when we have won some higher peak of difficulty, trodden under foot some evil, and felt. day by day. so sure a growth of moral strength within us that we cannot conceive of an end of growth.
