In February, 1899, our little daughter was taken very sick. We called in a doctor who had the reputation of being one of the best in the city, and after making an examination of her case, he told us one of her lungs was gone and the other one was affected. He also said she had softening of the spine that would cause her to be a cripple, and that if he succeeded in getting her safely through the lung trouble, he would have to put her in a plaster-of-paris jacket. My heart ached when he told me this, as I recalled a niece who wore three of these jackets, and there was no end to her sufferings and torture until she passed away. The doctor said he could not tell much about my child's case until the third day. When he came again I asked him what he thought of her, and he gave me very little hope. The thought then came to me, Why not try Christian Science? We called in a practitioner, and after the first treatment we saw a change for the better; after the second treatment the swelling had all left her feet and she had no more pain; and after the third treatment she was up and took dinner with us and was as well and hearty as if nothing had ever ailed her. I thank God for Christian Science, for to-day she is in perfect health and as straight as an arrow, without a trace of either the spinal or lung trouble. — Mrs. Minnie Schneider, Dayton, O.
