Is not the kingdom of heaven at hand? Is not the kingdom of God within? Does not the understanding of this fact, even in a small degree, enable us to free ourselves from the trials and tribulations of this life and enter into the "secret place of the most High," wherein is found nothing that "worketh abomination, or maketh a lie"? Experience has shown that Christian Science flourishes best in those towns where the churches are living up to their very highest concept of righteousness, notwithstanding what our critic believes to the contrary. In such soil Christian Science finds wholesome growth, and its beneficent influence extends far beyond the borders of its own adherents.
