Christian Scientists stand unequivocally upon the Scriptures...

Sioux City (Ia.) Tribune

Christian Scientists stand unequivocally upon the Scriptures and affirm without fear of successful contradiction that the religion of Jesus Christ as practised by him and by his disciples included Christian healing as a vital and fundamental part of its practical demonstration. It is a matter of history, according to Gibbon, that for three hundred years after Jesus' time the early Christians were healers of the sick. Christian Scientists have no contention with either physicians or clergymen, recognizing the world's present need; they simply asked to be spared premature judgment, but rather that they be judged, if at all, on the only equitable basis for judgment, viz., results.
