When I turned to Christian Science (about eighteen years ago)...
When I turned to Christian Science (about eighteen years ago) for help, all medical means had failed to bring even relief. Christian Science was then suggested to me, but wishing to give the last medicine prescribed a fair trial, I declined it. I found, however, that I could not use the medicine, so I abandoned it and took Christian Science treatment. After three days I was entirely relieved of a severe bowel trouble for which I had been under constant medical treatment for six years. I knew from the change which then took place that none other than the power of God had brought this about, and I said so. The use of the material means previously resorted to had always been followed by days of distress. I also had stomach trouble in its severest form. The above, which I considered the least of my ills, were healed by intermittent treatments in Christian Science, lasting about one year, but the chief trouble was healed by my daily study of the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy.
Today I am enjoying good health, notwithstanding that eighteen years ago all hope of my recovery had been abandoned by my physician and friends. I wish to express my gratitude to God for the Comforter, which is leading me into all truth as our Master promised; and to our Leader, who has so Clearly shown us how to gain the help of this Comforter.—Mrs. E. F. Jewett, Nashua, N. H.
