About seventeen years ago an attack of grip developed...
About seventeen years ago an attack of grip developed into rheumatic trouble, and a specialist said there was no help for me, that I could never again do a day's work. Five or six general medical practitioners also expressed this opinion. I then tried various means to get relief, such as massage, baths, etc., continuing these for eight years, but gaining nothing. It was claimed that my disease was hereditary, which increased the difficulty in the opinion of the physicians. I never accepted the verdict of the medical men, but always felt that there was help for me, and about five years ago I was treated by one whose knowledge of Christian Science was acquired from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. Within ten weeks I was healed, and for the past five years have worked constantly, without suffering. I walk without help of any kind, if not with entire freedom, and feel confident that continued study of the Bible and our text-book will bring, with understanding, a perfect physical condition.
I am deeply grateful to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for the light she has thrown upon the Bible and the good she has done to me and others. I was led to try Christian Science by the experience of my sister, who, when confronted by a surgical operation, the result of which was doubtful, turned to Science and was restored to health.
Charles H. Sager, Nashua, N. H.
