Having many times received encouragement and help...
Having many times received encouragement and help from the testimonies in our periodicals, I desire to make grateful acknowledgment of what Christian Science has done for me. I became interested in this truth because I was not satisfied with the understanding of God which I had. I attended church regularly from childhood, but as time went on I longed to know more of the truth, as it seemed that my progress had come to a standstill. Once, while searching the Bible, I felt as if there was something missing. Soon after this experience, a traveling salesman who was visiting our place of business mentioned Christian Science to me, and said, "You know all things are possible with God." As he spoke of God, I became interested and listened to what he had to say. It all seemed beautiful to me, yet strange. I could hardly wait until I could get the text-book, which he advised me to read. I had read but a few pages when I felt a great sense of peace come over me; I realized that I had found what I had thought of as missing pages in the Bible. I spent every spare moment for two years in studying Science and Health. I soon learned that I needed a healing which is far more important than the physical,—the healing which uncovers to one the false sense of existence and reveals the true. It is now five years since I first heard of Science and began to know the meaning of Truth and Love. I have proved in that time that God is the only Physician, and I am in perfect health.
Words cannot express my gratitude to our Leader. I can only prove my love for her by daily striving to be a Christian Scientist. I wish to express my thanks to the Publishing Society for giving to the world, week by week, this good news.—Mrs. Martha Boyle, Detroit, Mich.
