Christian Science first came into my life a little less than...

Christian Science first came into my life a little less than a war previous to my marriage, and my husband and I have acknowledged no other healing power than that of Truth in our seven years together. Our little daughter of five and a half years has been reared a Scientist. When she was six months of age an epidemic of pneumonia spread throughout the neighborhood in which we lived, carrying away a number of young children — all of whom were in the care of physicians. It finally attacked our little one, and although we applied all the understanding of Christian Science we had, she seemed to become rapidly worse, until the situation was so alarming that it seemed to us she might not live. At this point we telegraphed a Christian Scientist, early in the morning, and at noon the next day she showed a desire to play. That evening she was fully restored and we notified him to discontinue treatment.

About a month after the above experience, my husband went away on Monday morning as usual, his business at the time being that of a traveling salesman. It was cold, wet weather, and exposure to the elements seemed to develop a very severe attack of the grip on Wednesday. When he arrived home Friday night he was delirious. This illness was completely overcome through my understanding of God's law, in Christian Science, so that on the following morning he was down town attending to business. Christian Science is also teaching me how to overcome false pride, how to be unselfish, how to be patient, how to correct the little errors of daily life, and how to let divine Love govern.

All honor and praise to God, and loving gratitude to dear Mrs. Eddy for this revelation of Truth!
