Letters to our Leader

Concord, N. H., July 17, 1904.

Beloved Leader:— I wish to express to you my deep gratitude for your address of Sunday, July 17, 1904, which is full of truths not given us before.

I have gained a spiritual uplift from the sacred dedicatory service, and a higher understanding of God from your wonderful message. Some thoughts stand out prominently like guide-posts; viz., to be so much awake that I do not accept anything but "live truth;" that I must continually arouse myself to the fact that "all is Mind." It teaches the lesson of humility which subdues ambition and strife; that we need not enter or remain in the hell which another has planned for us, and that we need have none of our own making; that we need God's mercy all the time; that your marvelous demonstration should help us to wash one another's feet, or in other words, enable us to express in our own lives the meekness and love illustrated in the life of our Master, which you so faithfully emulate.
