About a year ago I had what was to me a very decisive demonstration, and for the second time my life was saved by the truth as taught in Christian Science. The first instance I wrote of some years ago. This time the belief of consumption had gradually developed. The well-known specialist in Philadelphia, Dr. Koch, pronounced it a very well-developed case, and marked on one of his diagrams just where he found that my lungs were affected. According to his diagnosis there were two very distinct spots on one lung, and one highly inflamed and rapidly developing spot on the other.
He declared that I must undergo his treatment or remove to some higher altitude or live for a year in the pines.
For a little while I was in doubt, as this particular disease had always seemed the most dreadful of all diseases to me. However, I was not long deciding, for I reasoned that Christian Science had saved my life once and I was sure it could do so again. In a short time after applying to the practitioner my cough began to cease, the plains in my chest grew less, and I realized that once more, Truth had been victorious. It was a very remarkable healing, for in two months there was scarcely a trace left of what had seemed a very well-developed case of consumption.
