Sowing and Reaping

At this time of the year Nature is whispering to us of fulfilment through garnered grain and ripening fruits which in the springtime were folded up in sweet promise. All are deeply interested in the harvest time, since the comfort and prosperity of all depend so largely upon it.

There is, however, a spiritual lesson to be learned from this season which is of more vital importance to all, though few perhaps see its application to everything that concerns our universal humanity.

At the close of Jesus' momentous interview with the Samaritan woman, and after he had defined the meaning of the true worship of the "only true God," Spirit, he quoted to his disciples a familiar proverb, "One soweth,and another reapeth."
