For fourteen years I suffered from nervous disease in consequence of stagnation of blood, and suffered intensely from insomnia.

To this affliction there was added, two years ago, a disease which almost drove me to despair.

One evening, about ten o'clock, I suffered from a severe pain and a spasm of the heart, which seemed to affect my whole body. After midnight I could not remain in bed and sat crouched in a chair, gasping for breath. In this condition I passed several hours. Many remedies were tried, but all of no avail.
