The Lectures

On Sunday afternoon, October 4, Judge Hanna delivered his first lecture in Minneapolis at the Metropolitan Opera House, under the auspices of First Church of Christ, scientist. The Opera House was packed, over two thousand people being present, and many standing even in the upper gallery. The Mayor of Minneapolis, Hon. J. C. Haynes, very fittingly introduced Judge Hanna, referring to him as belonging to the same profession as himself. In part he said,—

I esteem it a privilege and an honor to have been invited to introduce the lecturer of the day to this audience. The subject with which he must deal is of vital interest to us all.

Nearly two thousand years have elapsed since that marvelous personality whom men call Christ first declared those simple but sublime truths upon which our modern Christian civilization is based, and first proved to the world by his own life that brotherly love is of the very essence of the God-like spirit.
