Believing that our experience and healing in Christian Science...
Believing that our experience and healing in Christian Science will be of interest to other business men, I shall speak of some of the blessings we have received. With my two brothers we are engaged in business in this city and have in our employ about sixty men. Christian Science was first brought to our attention by my own healing. I had been in very poor health for several years, and had been under the care of some of the best physicians in our city and elsewhere, but was unable to obtain relief. Some physicians claimed that one lung was gone. I was also a great sufferer from stomach and kidney trouble, and was told that I could not live much longer. For three years I lived on the most rigid diet. After all the material means tried had failed, Christian Science was sought, and brought restoration to health. As superintendent my work requires close attention, and oftentimes I assist with the heaviest work. Before hearing of the Science I was obliged to give up my duties in our foundry, and I bought a small place in the country, hoping that lighter work and the country air would restore me to health, but this also failed.
After my healing, my mother tried Science treatment, and was made to walk after twenty-eight years of invalidism. My brother had two daughters sick with typhoid fever and given up by the physicians, and they were healed in Christian Science. I am confident this brother's eye was also saved by Christian Science. One day when pouring the molten iron a small amount about the size of a shot splashed in his eye and fastened on the eyeball. I picked it therefrom with a penknife, and nothing but Christian Science was applied to overcome the injury. A third brother was healed of severe stomach trouble through Christian Science. Many of the men in the foundry come to me for help for burns from the molten iron, and injured fingers and feet resulting from heavy castings falling on them.
One of the men in the foundry was taken quite ill at his home. He was not expected to live and threatened suicide. I was asked to call and see him, and in three days he was healed. I could tell of many more who have been made happy by this blessed truth. A number of our employees have purchased Science and Health.
