As young Christian Scientists we are apt to be impatient...

As young Christian Scientists we are apt to be impatient to see the result of our work in truth, and perhaps we become discouraged because the demonstration, for lack of understanding, is not quickly made.

During my first eighteen months in Christian Science I was in such a condition, when a circumstance occurred which helped me considerably. I had been trying to treat an ailment with but little apparent success, and one morning while struggling with it, I began to be faint. At this extremity error clamored for supremacy, but I realized that God is ever conscious, that I, as His image, could not lose my consciousness, and though mortal mind should do its worst, I was safe in His keeping. I came round at once, the error began to disappear from that moment, and by midday, was almost gone.

This lesson I learned, and it has helped me many times since, that if we trust God unto the end when we see no way, He then opens up to us the path through the sea, for we are walking by faith.
