Nearly eight years ago I realized that 'man's extremity is God's opportunity" and, in my need, turned to Christian Science for help, though at that time I knew little of it, except that it was prayer of some kind. I am grateful to say my need was met and I was made whole.

Astigmatism, with painful headaches, presumably from the eyes, also an entire dependence upon glasses for reading and sewing, passed like a painful shadow from my consciousness. An inherited and tenacious belief of bronchial trouble of several years' recurrence, with consumptive tendencies (fourteen relatives having passed away with similar trouble) and a great fear and depression therefrom, disappeared after the second treatment, as did also a chronic and painful trouble of fifteen years' standing, the result of being thrown from a buggy.

Unfortunately my practitioner left this city soon after I was healed, and though I longed to know something more of Christian Science. I knew not where to seek for information. However, I finally communicated with a Christian Scientist in Atlanta, Ga., who kindly sent me Science and Health and other books. This was over a year after my healing, and it was while reading and trying to understand Science and Health (although I did not seem to grasp its truths) that sciatica of fifteen years' standing vanished like a distressing dream.
