Mrs. Eddy's recent advice by no means admits any more...

Mrs. Eddy's recent advice by no means admits any more reality to disease than all her previous teaching has done. Disease is not made an entity by speaking or writing of it, any more than the term zero is made to mean more than nothing by adding, subtracting, or dividing it in mathematics. A million zeros still remain nothing, and a library written on the subject of zero could not give it any property or function except that of being nothing.

Enlightened public consciousness is rapidly learning that fear, apprehension, suspicion, and doubt are fruitful sources of contagion. It is daily being more widely understood that as a man thinketh, so is he; that courage, based on spiritual understanding, is a better preventive of epidemics than any quarantine; and that positive health is a thousandfold more contagious than negative disease.
