The White Mountain Chapel

At a recent Wednesday evening meeting of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Fabyans, N. H., the purport of the remarks and testimonials was in substance as follows : —

The leader expressed the thought that the God by whose power Jesus and the early disciples healed the sick and sinful is the same God to-day, and that the understanding of God and man, realized through Christian Science, enables us to substantiate the words of Jesus, "He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also." The healing of physical sickness is the lesser mission of Christian Science; its greater mission is the healing of sin. As thought becomes purer and more spiritual, the body responds to that thought in improvement of health and harmony of action.

He then spoke of two cases of healing. One was suggested by one of the hymns of the evening (No. 186), which was written by one who had been pronounced, by medical authority, incurable. Through a few weeks of Christian Science treatment she was restored to perfect health, and in love and gratitude for her. wonderful recovery she indited the words of the hymn.
