To the Editor.
Dear Sir: -The hopelessness must be apparent to every one, of trying to dissuade from Christian Science, persons who have tried medical treatment of every kind for years without benefit, and who, after coming to Christian Science, have been completely healed in a few days. It is equally hopeless to tell those for whom the Scriptures have become an open book, through reading the Christian Science text-book, that the latter does not contain the true interpretation of Christianity.
Your correspondent would long ago have attained a clearer idea of the blessings which Christian Science has in store for him, had he not confounded it with the pseudosciences which, under various names, masquerade as "identical with Christian Science," and yet use human will power and personal control. As he states, "the principles involved are all-important," and the Principle of Christian Science is totally and fundamentally different from that involved in any of those so-called sciences. Mrs. Eddy has explained this distinction in "Miscellaneous Writings." p. 97. In answer to the question: "How is the healing done in Christian Science ?" she states : -
