I suffered for years with indigestion in its worst form,...
I suffered for years with indigestion in its worst form, with other accompaniments, such as headache palpitation, weakness, and despondency. I began to wonder why I did not understand more about God as Love. I was a member of the Congregational Church for over fifteen years, and was taught that God sent suffering to try His children, but I did not believe it. One of the best physicians in Boston said my case was the most stubborn he had ever met. As I did not receive the comfort and proof of a God of love I would have been glad to die.
In this condition Christian Science was brought to my notice by a dear friend, and I thank God every day, for I prayed most earnestly to know something better. Christian Science teaches that our Creator is God, divine Principle, Love. Divine Principle—what sweet words! they mean so much. My heart is full of gratitude for the health and strength brought to me, for I feel like a different person, spiritually and physically. I was healed of indigestion in about six weeks. That was over six years ago, and I have never had one of those attacks or one headache since.
I thank God for giving us Christian Science through our self-sacrificing Leader, Mary Baker G. Eddy, author of our text-book, Science and Health, which is indeed a Key to the Scriptures to me. I want to thank the Field also for their testimonies, they are all so helpful, even the smallest one, telling of the power of divine Love, which is God our Father.—Louise Simmons, Roxbury, Mass.
