All the cold winter months have passed, and I have felt...
All the cold winter months have passed, and I have felt absolutely no return of the dreadful cough, hoarseness, and difficulty in breathing that had been my almost constant companions for twenty years or more, and which ordinary physicians, and specialists too, had treated conscientiously, though in vain. I am absolutely free from this disease now, and have been for two years, ever since divine Love has come into my life and has renewed me.
So dense was my religious bent, that when first I attended the Christian Science meetings and listened to the testimonies and began reading those helpful periodicals, the Journal and the Sentinel, I wondered what the people were talking about when they spoke of a "spiritual uplifting;" but I persevered, and it was long after I had been physically freed, that my eyes were gradually opened to the Light, Now day by day I realize more and more that the physical help is much indeed, but only the stepping-stone to the spiritual awakening.
I was born of Jewish parents, but agnosticism was the seed planted in our home. I often longed to believe in God, but did not know how; I tried to read the Bible, but as it only meant so many empty words to me, I soon discarded it. Needless to add that now the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's writings mean everything to me, and that at last I have found my loving God!
