Items of Interest

The principal object to be subserved by the Pan-American Congress which meets in the City of Mexico, is "the solidarity of the interests of all America,' yet the representatives of the United States are specifically instructed on the following points among others:—

First.—Measures that shall tend to promote the prosperity of the several American States.

Second.—The formation of an American Customs Union under which trade of American nations with one another shall be promoted.
