Christian Science brings Health and Understanding

Through reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and the earnest labor of one good and true practitioner, my wife was restored to perfect health in less than one year, and gained forty pounds in weight after a severe and almost a chronic attack of stomach trouble which reduced her to a mere skeleton of her former self. Specialists in materia medica were appealed to for months. They failed to alleviate her suffering. West Baden Springs, Ind., were resorted to, but no change. Massage, vapor baths, and all other remedies used, proved of no avail. It was suggested that we give Christian Science a trial. Forth years of study and adherence to orthodox teaching was a mountain between me and Christian Science, having heard that strange things were taught by the Scientists. But love and desire to see my wife enjoy health and happiness decided me to cast away my prejudice and accept anything, even Christian Science, to see her delivered from the pain and torture she was suffering.

And now, after twelve months of reading and studying Science and Health accompanied with the Bible, and attending the First Christian Science Church of Chicago, I am convinced that to acknowledge the goodness and power of God one must put off the old (material) man and put on the new (spiritual), and obey the command of Jesus Christ, "Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind" and "thy neighbor as thyself."

The study of Science and Health has given me an understanding of the Bible, and enabled me to enjoy the fruits of the Spirit,—Life, Truth, and Love.
