Watch and Pray
"What I say unto you, I say unto all, Watch." When our Leader gave those words of Jesus as a motto, she knew the need of the hour, and how carefully at this present moment, hour, and day, should we guard ourselves with sentinel thoughts. The motto and the name of our Christian Science weekly are one in thought, as the definition of the word Sentinel shows.
Allow only the likeness of the good, the true, the perfect, to find an abiding place in your thought, and complete harmonious action of all things will be manifested unto you.
The first step to be taken to accomplish this is to meditate on God, for only as we know God, can we perceive the good, the perfect, the true. We shall find it in God, for Jesus said, "Why callest thou me good? There is none good but one, that is, God;" and again, "'This is life eternal, that they might know thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent." In this last quotation from Jesus' words, we are shown plainly that the knowledge of God is eternal life, and life to be eternal must be immutably and absolutely harmonious.
