Czolgosz

The Watchman makes this editorial suggestion as to the possible influence which caused Czolgosz to commit the awful crime for which he is to be executed:—

"There are some phases of Czolgosz' mental operations that create the suspicion that he was hypnotized by some stronger nature. Though we have not seen that theory suggested, the facts readily fit into such an explanation, and it is directly confirmed by his own declaration that the words of Emma Goldman 'burned into his brain.' Certainly there is an uncanny realm of speculation developed by modern theories of the power of hypnotic suggestion."
