Thanks to our Helpers

I cannot refrain from giving expression to the many benefits derived from our reliable reading matter the Journal and Sentinel, with their many helpful and encouraging thoughts. At times, when struggling to overcome some error, we find just what we want, as an article seems to apply to us we are enlightened and our need is supplied. We hardly realize how much we receive through our weekly and monthly messengers. I feel very grateful to the co-workers in the Field for the many helpful thoughts I have received.

I shall mention two articles in particular which were of special interest to me. One in the Sentinel of March 8—a lecture at Tufts College by Mr. Tomlinson, which seemed especially good, as it was so clear and practical; the other in the Sentinel of March 22—an illustration of the thistle which showed we could not accept Truth partly, and in a half-hearted manner, and except to demonstrate it, but must grasp it boldly and firmly in order to break error's attempted stings. To see this has been much help to me.

A short time ago my little girl, five years old, in handling a pair of button-hole scissors, ran them in her eye, making a small gash on the eyeball just below the sight. In two or three days there was not a trace of it, owing to the power of Truth manifested by the understanding of Christian Science.—Mrs. J. F. L., Blue Island, Ill.
