Among the Churches

The Atchison Champion published a full account of the recent dedication of First Church of Christ, Scientist, in that city. We make the following extracts as space will not permit us to publish the account in full.

The anniversary and dedicatory services of the Christian Science Church in Atchison were held Easter Sunday, and the services were both largely attended and very interesting. Over five hundred invitations were issued to prominent Scientists in other cities. It was the fifth anniversary of the establishment of the church in this city, and the church building being free from debt, it was dedicated with appropriate services. The building has been renovated throughout, and presented a very attractive appearance on Sunday. Cut flowers, Easter lilies, and palms were gracefully arranged about the pulpit. On one side of the pulpit, in gilt lettering are the words, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man cometh unto the Father but by Me."—Jesus. On the other side, "Divine Love always has met, and always will meet, every human need."—Mary Baker Eddy. Above were the words, "God is Love."

After the regular services had been concluded, Mr. Robert Reid, the Second Reader, read a clear and concise history of the Christian Science movement in Atchison. It was in part as follows:—
