Immortal Life

That God is our only Life and that all Life is immortal has been much clearer since the Sunday lesson of October 15. It is sweet to realize that if we will only work there is no more mystery about immortality than there is about working out an example in mathematics, if we will but take the rule and use it.

In explaining the thought of immortality to some of the children the following line of argument came up and helped us all to see more clearly in what immortality consists.

If we are thinking something to-day which will be forgotten to-morrow it was never a real thought any more than our dreams are real. In the place of this empty, useless thought, we receive one which is a real thought, one which is always true and lasting. This is surely clothing our minds with immortality or eternal thoughts which can never die. So day by day, if we strive to have true thoughts we shall lay off the old useless thoughts, and put on the lasting helpful thoughts which enable us to demonstrate happiness, health, Love, and Truth, and these are the things which make us live forever. Thus we partake of that Mind which is everlasting. "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee, the only true God."
