Hold the line on terrorism

Around the world, news of Osama bin Laden’s death was greeted with responses that ranged from relief to jubilation to sorrow. For many who lost family members in the terrorist bombings he engineered, there were feelings of closure. 

Speculation about the future of Al Qaeda and terrorism continues. Like a hydra-headed monster, it’s likely that the terror of terrorism will continue. But instead of instilling fear or discouragement, this knowledge should strengthen our endeavors to see it completely eliminated.

Students of Christian Science not only have the tools with which to accomplish this work; they also have the responsibility. It’s not for nothing that Mary Baker Eddy, the founder of this magazine and the discoverer of Christian Science, charged it with “watching” and “holding guard.”
