Healing of knee problems and a smoking habit

Several years ago I had a serious knee problem that made it impossible for me to wear long pants, because of swelling and constant pain. At the time, tight pants were in fashion and I couldn’t wear them because they squeezed my knees. I switched to only wearing skirts.

I was advised by friends to consult a doctor because perhaps surgery might solve the problem. However, although I had only been acquainted with Christian Science for a short time, I opted to be treated through prayer for my healing.

I called a Christian Science practitioner and asked him to support me through prayer. After listening to me, he talked to me very calmly, seeking to elevate my thought to the truth, assuring me of God’s healing power. He affirmed repeatedly that nothing was outside the power of God. Since I was God’s image and likeness, I could not manifest any physical discomfort that would limit me or prevent me from wearing certain clothes.
