Freedom from overeating
The news, television commercials, magazines, and the Internet are constantly warning us of the physical problems and fatal effects of overeating or eating the wrong foods. There are countless methods of teaching proper eating. However, it has been my experience that these methods are not lasting unless self-restraint is spiritually understood and demonstrated.
The Bible teaches us that man is the image and likeness of God, Spirit. We learn in Christian Science that we are not victims of “animal magnetism,” or the activity of evil. The idea of God is not subject to lack of self-control or sensuality in the form of overindulgence. Although I have had many healings and blessings come to me along the way, this realization has taken me many years of study and prayer.
I realized the need for me to be a good example and to demonstrate Christliness, not selfishness. As I am the image and likeness of God, my true desire was to know and express completeness and satisfaction.
