"God ... reveals ... a different view of reality"

The walls aren't there

Sometimes we very much want those walls of human limitation to come down. They separate us from some cherished goal, such as health, joy, right activity, peace. We know God is a present help in trouble, and we turn radically and expectantly to Him. But then the orders we receive from Him may seem strange to our personal sense of things—like those given to Joshua and his men before the wall of Jericho: On the last day go six times around the city and on the seventh round blow your trumpets and shout.

Joshua was obedient and the wall of Jericho "fell down flat."See Josh. 6:1-20  This colorful and dramatic Old Testament story has special meaning for us today because there are walls that need to come down—walls of greed, prejudice, ignorance, fear. And down they will come, provided we obey God's commands.

The mind of mortals resists obedience to spiritual reality and even doubts the efficacy of the deep things of Spirit to solve problems. How can God, divine Truth and Love, scientifically understood, dissolve this entrenched materiality? we question.
