Mrs. Eddy writes in Science and Health (p. vii), "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings." It has been my joy to prove this in many healings through the application of Christian Science.

At one time I was busily preparing a program for a piano concert that was most important to my professional career. About a week before performance date one of my fingers became infected. I immediately repudiated this and would not even look at the condition, realizing it was false evidence of mortal mind and not to be accepted as true. Piano practice became difficult and painful, so I called a Christian Science practitioner for help through prayer.

The practitioner vehemently declared God to be the only cause or creator, omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient, Love. She told me that "music is divine" (Message to The Mother Church for 1900 by Mrs. Eddy, p. 11). She also said that my gift to perform is from our loving Father-Mother God, good, bestowed upon me to share with others, and there is no power apart from good to injure me or prevent the successful completion of my efforts. As there is no substance in matter, and God is the only substance, I as God's idea, created in His likeness, express His attributes. I inherit spiritual substance over which matter, or mortal mind, has no power or jurisdiction to cause inflammation. Mrs. Eddy says (Science and Health, pp. 414—415): "Matter cannot be inflamed. Inflammation is fear, an excited state of mortals which is not normal." And we read in I John (4:18), "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear."
