I am writing this testimony in profound gratitude for the many blessings that have been mine over more than fifty years of reliance on Christian Science. There have been innumerable instances of protection and healing. However, the two I am relating seem to me outstanding.

Some years ago while visiting a sister in another state I stepped backward to fasten a door and fell the length of the basement stairs, landing on the concrete floor at the bottom. As I landed, I declared aloud: "God knows nothing about accidents." In Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy we read (p. 424): "Under divine Providence there can be no accidents, since there is no room for imperfection in perfection."

My sister heard me fall and came immediately. She telephoned a Christian Science practitioner for me. In a few moments all shock had been overcome and I was able to go back upstairs without assistance. I sat up for a while but seemed to have some difficulty with my neck and shoulders, so I went to bed. But first I called the practitioner to tell her my gratitude for the effective prayer. I had a very comfortable night's sleep and got up in the morning completely free.
