The View That Heals

In writing a screenplay each "shot" is numbered, and the camera position indicated by CLOSE UP, MED. SHOT, LONG SHOT, and sometimes JOHN'S POV (Point of view). This POV shot does not show John, but only what John is seeing. The idea is that the camera stands where John is so the spectator will see what John sees and share his viewpoint and feelings.

The point of view of Christian Science heals by enabling us to see creation as God sees it—spiritual and eternal. As we relinquish the view of ourselves as finite persons, and as the belief that man is a material personality is removed from thought, we have the ability to better judge what we see as either real or unreal, because good or evil, spiritual or material. Our viewpoint resolves to the reality of perfection. Then we endeavor to hold this position.

Stand at the foot of a mountain, and that village is beautiful, set among the pines. Climb to a thousand feet; how different it looks. Five thousand. Ten. How the view changes! Turn the end of the mountain, and you may see a valley you never knew was there. Truly, our standpoint determines our view.
