In Science and Health Mrs. Eddy gives the definition of "eyes," part of which reads (p. 586): "Spiritual discernment,—not material but mental." And in Unity of Good she says (p. 25): "Mind is not, cannot be, in matter. It sees, hears, feels, tastes, smells as Mind, and not as matter." Clinging to these truths and looking up in the Concordances to the Bible and to Mrs. Eddy's writings such words as sight and vision, I was healed of double vision. My family, who are not Christian Scientists, tried to persuade me to have medical help. I am grateful to say that I did not, and I found much encouragement in the thought that Truth, God, is always victorious.

This is only one of the many healings I have had and witnessed during the many years that I have been a student of Christian Science.

When I was a very new student of Christian Science, severe bleeding after a motor accident on a lonely road, with no help in sight, was stopped instantly when the thought came to me that my life is not in blood; my life is in God.
