Reject the Impostor

Twenty-four hours a day the human consciousness is bombarded with the world's thinking of one kind or another. It sometimes seems as if the false mortal thoughts of the world are standing in line, so to speak, waiting to enter into our thinking if we will accept them and let them in. But the beautiful and true Christly thoughts are there too, awaiting our recognition and acceptance.

Christian Science shows the need to reject the intrusions of mortal thinking. If accepted, they will burrow their way first into our thinking, and with this admittance they will enter our human experience, take over and control the body, and govern our human affairs. In Science and Health Mrs. Eddy reminds us, "Christian Science, properly understood, would disabuse the human mind of material beliefs which war against spiritual facts; and these material beliefs must be denied and cast out to make place for truth."Science and Health, p. 130;

Should we accept or reject the impostor, material belief? Only we ourselves can make this decision. As the false thoughts present themselves to us, we can remember and exercise this biblical precaution: "Believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God." I John 4:1;
