In a recent column headed "Power of Prayer" [the writer] described a group of men in the Philippines, who operated on her, as "advocates of Christian Science healing."

Such psychic and surgical methods as she submitted to are not related to Christian Science, which teaches the total reliance on prayer and spiritual means for healing. Nothing could be more distant from these teachings than the system of surgically opening and closing the body described by [the writer]—a method which, in spite of her confidence in it, is emphatically not Christian Science.
