Mrs. Eddy states in the Manual of The Mother Church (Art. VIII, Sect. 24), "Testimony in regard to the healing of the sick is highly important." I feel my praise in writing of the many healings I have had through reliance on the healing power of Christian Science is long overdue.

Just before Christmas, over five years ago, I made a legally required visit to a doctor. I was later told that I must have immediate surgery to remove a growth from my breast, as it was thought to be malignant. Since I had been a Christian Scientist all my life and had been healed many times by the application of the truth, I thanked the doctor and said I would advise her of my decision after I had spoken to my husband. As both of us are Christian Scientists, I had no doubt what my decision would be.

My husband and I discussed the problem that night and rang a Christian Science practitioner for help. Her immediate response was one of great joy that the medical prediction had no power over me; the medical authorities were not talking about the child of God, so they were not talking about me. We wrote the doctor and advised her that I would not need the operation, as I was going to rely on Christian Science for healing. Referring to God in our letter, we quoted part of Psalm 103 (v. 3), "Who healeth all thy diseases." We assured the doctor that Christian Science had healed many diseases in our family.
