As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness (John 3:14)
Numbers 21:9 describes Moses making a brass serpent and elevating it upon a pole as a token to the Israelites of divine deliverance during their journey around Edom into Canaan. "And it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived."
God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world (John 3:17)
