I would like to tell about a recent healing

I would like to tell about a recent healing. Coming home from work one Friday, I was knocked down by two teen-agers who stole my purse. Later, at my apartment, I called a Christian Science practitioner, explaining what had happened and that I had a very painful arm. There were indications that the arm and shoulder were severely injured. She agreed to treat me through prayer. At no time did I hold any resentment against the two youths.

However, when Monday came, I was unable to go to work. There were many nights that week when I was in great pain and was tempted to have X rays and medical attention. But I wanted to have a Christian Science healing. Although I had never before had a difficult physical problem to be healed in Christian Science, I had had class instruction that summer and wanted to prove the scientific truths I had learned.

The practitioner continued to turn my thoughts to the reality of God's good and perfect creation, and I was strengthened. During this time I felt great compassion for my assailants. I knew that I had something to give them—the realization of their innocence and freedom as the sons of God. Then mortal mind stopped nagging me. Each time that I felt distressed I studied more deeply, and as I grew in spiritual understanding, mortal mind was silenced.
