Shortly after we had moved

Shortly after we had moved to a small cottage outside of town, I fell down the narrow flight of stairs leading to my bedroom and landed on my right arm. My father was home on vacation, but my mother was at work. My father carried me into his room, declaring that there are no accidents in divine Mind (see Science and Health, p. 424). He then called my mother and told her what had happened. I soon became quiet and was able to sleep.

When my mother came home from work that evening, she and my father asked me whether I wanted to rely on Christian Science for a healing or have my arm taken care of by a medical doctor, as it was out of shape. I told them that I wanted God to take care of me, because I was learning at home and in Sunday School that God is the best physician and healer I could ever want or need.

We prayed with the ninety-first Psalm, especially verses 9-16. Verse 11 says, "He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways." I felt safe and secure in God's love. I stayed quiet for a few days and put my arm in a sling.
