Rise and Shine
"Oh, no!" thought Cindy as she opened her eyes on Friday morning. Even the cheery flowers on her newly papered walls didn't make her smile. She felt terrible.
"I guess this is that thing all of those kids in school said they had," she thought. Lately almost everyone in Cindy's class had missed lots of days at school because of illness.
Then Smiley her cat jumped up on her bed and began to purr loudly as he rubbed his furry head against her hand. He was very surprised when Cindy just pushed him down instead of giving him the usual good morning hug. Nothing was fun for Cindy that morning.
