My testimony is long overdue

My testimony is long overdue. I have given testimonies in branch churches, but have been urged to write this one.

In my late teens I spent most of the time in bed because of a rare blood condition. My father, who was a doctor, enlisted the opinions of different specialists. Many kinds of treatment were tried without any healing result.

One day a dear friend came to see me. She was a student of Christian Science, but I didn't know this at the time. She left a book for me to read and said it would help me. This book, the textbook of Christian Science, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, kept me reading until well into the night. When the three doctors came to see me after a week to make a decision as to whether they would risk operating, they were surprised to notice an improvement in my condition. My father was an agnostic, but he said, "If you have found something to help you, go ahead." Such protection to have this good unobstructed! Gradually I got back to normal health and found progress through study of the textbook and the Bible Lessons, and help from a Christian Science practitioner.
