Escape from the Computerized Past!

The spiritual origin and being of man is so far beyond the comprehension of the physical senses that it is safe to say nobody has more than a slight acquaintance with the true nature of even his nearest human relatives and friends. The very fact that he thinks of them as human beings is a deterrent to truly knowing them. It takes the vision of the Christ to find the true nature of any individual, because it is invariably "hid with Christ in God" Col. 3:3; —in the secret place of the divine Mind, where mortal sense cannot enter.

Since the human picture of anyone so inadequately conveys the true facts of that person's nature, why keep more than the barest record of it? That picture will be constantly changing for the better as the individual gains a clearer understanding of his actual, perfect, spiritual nature as God's son, so the human record is seldom likely to be accurate even of the human belief of that person. The only fair thing is constantly to review and update it.

Mrs. Eddy writes in Science and Health, "Chronological data are no part of the vast forever." Science and Health, p. 246; Surely, then, mankind's prospects for attaining a higher vision and demonstration of true being are enhanced by "forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before," Phil. 3:13. as the Apostle Paul recommends.
