Some forty-seven years ago, after having served in the United States Navy...
Some forty-seven years ago, after having served in the United States Navy during World War I, I was in a state of turmoil over finances and a general feeling of insecurity.
Having met several individuals who were very joyful, I found they were Christian Scientists. I determined to find out about the religion and went to a local Christian Science Reading Room. After arguing with the librarian, hopeful of being able to buy this state of mind, she finally convinced me that if I would spend some time reading some of the literature in the peace and quiet of the study room I would find what I was seeking.
Feeling too busy to give more time, I agreed to spend ten minutes. But an hour elapsed before I realized it, and I knew I had found what I was looking for and that money could not buy it.
