Christian Science has been the way of divine Life for me for over...
Christian Science has been the way of divine Life for me for over twenty years. My deep thanks go to God, our Father, for the health, peace, abundance, and divine adventures this way of life has brought me.
One morning in high school a friend pointed out to me that my arms were covered with a rash. At first, afraid to be sent to the school nurse, I had my arms under my desk. Then I opened my thought to God, and this message came clearly to me, "You have nothing to hide!" I had learned in the Christian Science Sunday School that as the child of God I must always be spiritual and perfect, without spot or blemish. Obediently I put my arms on top of the desk and, turning away from the material evidence, began to do some homework. When the bell rang for classes five minutes later, the rash had disappeared and my arms were normal again.
In college one day I had to leave class and return to the dormitory because of severe pain. Dismayed because I feared I would miss a banquet I very much wanted to attend that evening, I lay on the bed too weak and confused even to read. As I prayerfully sorted through my thoughts, the realization suddenly came that God's likeness can have only one right desire—to know Him better. The desperate longing to be rid of the pain, to go to the banquet, vanished in that one overwhelming desire—and so did the pain. I studied gratefully an article in a current Christian Science Sentinel for some minutes and then returned to class.
