Right Motives in the Learning Process
Another school year looms on the horizon. What's it going to be, a drag or an adventure?
Learning can be fun when our motive is right. But many students are fed up with the old routine—merely cramming knowledge to attain status and economic security.
Of course, there is nothing wrong with making a living, and doing a good job in the process. Nor is there anything inherently bad when faithful service and excellence of performance lift one to a position of prominence and responsibility. But to be truly satisfying to oneself, and meaningful in a wider context, personal success must be the by-product of a higher, spiritual motivation.
