The screen door clattered open and thumped shut, shaking the slumbering house.

"Hi, Mom, I'm home!" Jamie Manzonni charged excitedly into the living room and tossed her homework onto the sofa.

"Oh, it's you!" Mrs. Manzonni said with mock surprise. "It sounded like a herd of wild horses."
